What's In A Name?

Names carry meaning. They tell stories. They hold identity, intention, and legacy.

In 2001, during one of the most meaningful seasons of my life—preparing to name my daughter—I found myself drawn to the history behind names. I became fascinated by how, in earlier times, names were often chosen to reflect a person’s character, essence, or even their purpose. In many ways, not unlike what we now recognize as a brand.

I wanted something different. Something intentional.

A name that would reflect that she is a part of me—yet entirely her own.

After much thought, I began to play with pieces of my own name, carefully reshaping and rearranging until it felt just right. And then, it came together effortlessly.

Shurnique.

A name that felt both personal and powerful. Familiar, yet undeniably distinct.

And as the years have passed, she has grown into that name in the most beautiful way. She is truly one of a kind—vibrant, expressive, full of life and warmth. There are pieces of me within her, yes, but she has undeniably carved out her own identity. Her energy, her joy, her spirit—completely her own.

Watching her evolve has been a reminder of what that name was always meant to represent:

Individuality. Expression. Natural uniqueness.

So when it came time to name this brand, the decision felt aligned—almost inevitable.

This is more than a business. It is an extension of that same intention. A continuation of creation, growth, and self-expression.

And now, with my daughter by my side, Shurnique evolves once again—this time into something we can share with you.
